Lakers’ Brandon Ingram is placed in concussion protocol, will miss Sunday’s game
In his second game back from a groin injury, Lakers forward Brandon Ingram had another stroke of bad luck.
Ingram will miss Sunday’s game against the Sacramento Kings after being diagnosed with “concussion-like symptoms” on Saturday, the Lakers said.
He is in the NBA’s concussion protocol, which mandates he be monitored for 24 hours after the injury surfaces.
In order to be cleared, Ingram will have to be without concussion symptoms at rest, be evaluated by a physician and go through a series of activities from riding a stationary bike to non-contact team drills without symptoms.
The Lakers have also listed point guard Lonzo Ball as doubtful for the Kings game. Ball bruised his left knee after colliding with Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki on Wednesday.
Ingram finished with 12 points on five-for-seven shooting, making both of his three-point shots, three rebounds and six assists against the Bucks. He also missed all three of his free throws and had five turnovers.
Ingram was selected with the second overall pick in the 2016 draft. He is averaging 16.1 points on 47% shooting, 5.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists a game this season.
