Oddsmakers expect Dwight Howard to re-sign with the Lakers
According to the gambling website Bovada, the Lakers are the prohibitive favorite to sign their All-Star center Dwight Howard.
Howard will officially become a free agent on July 1.
The Lakers are expected to make every overture to keep him on a five-year deal. Howard is likely to talk to several teams before making his decision.
Bovada gives the Lakers 4-7 odds to have Howard in the lineup for Game 1 next season.
The Houston Rockets are the next-likely team to acquire Howard, with 11-4 odds. The Dallas Mavericks (3-1) and Atlanta Hawks (6-1) are also possibilities, according to Bovada.
The prospect of Howard playing for another team altogether is given 17-2 odds.
Additionally, Bovada gives the Lakers 4-7 odds to keep Pau Gasol -- even odds to play for any other team.
