Mets’ David Wright could be headed to DL
New York Mets third baseman David Wright has a herniated disk in his neck and could be headed to the disabled list.
Wright, 33, did not play Monday for the third consecutive day. He got an MRI exam and was given anti-inflammatory medicine over the weekend.
Wright was on the DL from April 15 to Aug. 24, 2015, after he strained his right hamstring and then developed spinal stenosis. He has a lengthy physical therapy routine he must go through before each game.
The veteran hit a home run in three games in a row last week. He is batting .226 with seven home runs, 14 runs batted in and 55 strikeouts in 137 at-bats.

The New York Yankees put infielder Dustin Ackley on the 15-day DL because of a dislocated right shoulder suffered Sunday as he dove back into first base on a pickoff play. Former Arizona Wildcat Rob Refsnyder was called up to take his roster spot. ...
The Toronto Blue Jays recalled right-hander Ryan Tepera from triple-A Buffalo and designated utilityman Jimmy Paredes for assignment.
