College basketball roundup: Louisville holds off Pittsburgh, 85-80
Quentin Snider scored 22 points, including two free throws with 25.3 seconds remaining, and Deng Adel made a free throw eight seconds later as No. 14 Louisville survived Jamel Artis’ career-high 43 points to outlast Pittsburgh, 85-80, on Wednesday night.
The host Cardinals (14-3, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) led big in the second half before Artis’ 32-point half helped the Panthers (12-5, 1-3) cut the deficit to 81-76 with 45 seconds left.
at No. 8 Creighton 75, No. 12 Butler 64: Maurice Watson Jr. scored 21 points and the Bluejays (16-1, 4-2 Big East Conference) matched their best start.
Avery Woodson led the Bulldogs (14-3, 3-2) with 14 points.
No. 11 North Carolina 93, at Wake Forest 87: Justin Jackson made a three-point basket with 1:03 left and the Tar Heels (15-3, 3-1 ACC) managed to hang on.
Jackson finished with 19 points. Bryant Crawford scored 22 points for the Demon Deacons (10-7, 1-4).
at Michigan State 65, No. 24 Minnesota 47: Miles Bridges scored all 16 of his points in the first half for the Spartans (12-6, 4-1 Big Ten Conference).
The Golden Gophers dropped to 11-7, 3-2.
