And the next promising NBA star according to LeBron James is...
LeBron James has been off the radar this summer. We don’t blame him since he just won his third NBA championship with his second team in June. He needs a break just like everyone else.
He did make headlines earlier in the week when he sat down on the “Uninterrupted Open Run” podcast, saying he’d like to one day own an NBA team. Though, things got more interesting toward the end of the podcast during the rapid-fire questions.
Those questions included his favorite comedy movie and his favorite place to eat on the road. But the question that stood out the most was: Who did he think was the most promising young gun in the league?
His answer is at the 1:22:00 mark in the audio file below. (WARNING: The podcast includes profanity.)
“That no one knows about?” James asked. “I’m going to be honest. If it’s someone that is under the radar right now that ... I believe that’s gonna be a really, really, really All-Star player in the league, it’s Devin Booker from the Phoenix Suns.”
This isn’t the first time Booker has received praise from an NBA All Star. Kobe Bryant, Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade have also praised the Phoenix Sun guard.
As a rookie, Booker averaged 13.8 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game. Those numbers are not NBA All-Star caliber, but he is the fourth youngest player in NBA history to reach 1,000 points, only behind James, Bryant and Kevin Durant.
So we can see why James has given Booker the nod.
