Clippers’ Jamal Crawford seeking contract extension

Jamal Crawford’s agent, Andy Miller, said in a text that “we’ve made our intentions clear” when asked on Wednesday night if his client wanted an extension from the Clippers -- or any other team that might acquire the 6-foot-5 guard in a trade.
Miller and Crawford, who has two years left on his contract at $11.125 million, feel that his value is higher than what he is being paid.
His contract that pays him $5.4 million for the 2014-15 season became fully guaranteed on June 30, and the Clippers have a team option for the 2015-16 season in which Crawford can be bought out for $1 million.
Crawford, who was the NBA’s sixth man of the year for the 2013-14 season, has heard his name mentioned in sign-and-trade rumors.
The Times confirmed a story first reported by Yahoo Sports that the Clippers have looked into doing a sign-and-trade deal that would send Crawford to Cleveland for either Cavaliers forward Luol Deng or center Spencer Hawes.
Crawford averaged 18.6 points a game last season, third on the team behind Blake Griffin and Chris Paul.
