Clippers to face Oklahoma City in big game

The Clippers know Wednesday night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Staples Center has meaning.
“It’s a big game,” Blake Griffin said before the Clippers’ practiced Tuesday morning. “You can’t really dance around that. They are right in front of us. But at the same time, it’s still going to go up to another level in the playoffs. It’s not going to be quite like it is in the playoffs, but it will be an intense game.”
The Clippers know if they defeat the Thunder, Los Angeles has a chance to move past Oklahoma City in the ultra-competitive Western Conference.
The Clippers (55-23) are in position to be the third seed in the West and are one game behind the second-seeded Thunder (55-21), two games behind in the loss column.
The Thunder play at the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night, and a win or a loss by Oklahoma obviously will change things.
Still, the Clippers own a 2-1 lead in the series and can win the season series with a victory Wednesday.
That would mean that if the two teams finish the regular season with matching records, the Clippers would finish higher in the West and would have the home-court advantage over the Thunder if the two teams met in the second round of the playoffs.
