A judge postponed Kings defenseman Slava Voynov’s trial on a felony domestic violence charge in Los Angeles Superior Court until next week because of a scheduling conflict by the prosecutor.
Voynov’s trial, originally scheduled to begin Monday at the Torrance courthouse, will instead start March 10.
Voynov’s attorneys objected to the delay, but Judge Eric C. Taylor consented to Deputy Dist. Atty. Frank Dunnick’s request to reschedule the trial because of a conflict with another case.
The judge also said that he will not allow video or photographs during the proceedings.
Voynov, who has pleaded not guilty, faces a maximum of nine years in state prison if convicted. He remains suspended indefinitely with pay.
