Four days after UCLA’s best overall game of the season, the mood at practice was upbeat, unsurprisingly. Everyone was talking about Ishmael Adams, and nobody is too concerned with the defense.

Five days until Utah, and UCLA is feeling good.

Quotes from Monday’s practice:

Redshirt senior linebacker Eric Kendricks

On where Myles Jack has made the most improvements: “I would say definitely in the meeting room. He’s starting to pick up on what offenses are doing, things like that, the mental aspect of the game. Last year, he was kind of just out there, so he’s starting to pick up keys and learn football a little more.”

Junior defensive back Ishmael Adams

On his interception return for a touchdown: “I saw the sideline, was making my way to the sideline and then saw the flow of the elephants going toward the sideline. I saw the wall my guys naturally created, so I just took it the other way, and they met me down in the end zone.”
