Football: St. John Bosco is gearing up for another big season
Braves return QB Josh Rosen, RB Sean McGrew
There were more than 20 college football recruiters who came out for St. John Bosco’s college and media day on Thursday watching spring football practice. The Braves went 16-0 last season and even though they graduate lots of top players, the cupboard is not bare.
The offense should be as good as last season, with quarterback Josh Rosen and running back Sean McGrew leading the way. The offensive line should be big and talented. A new receiver to watch is junior-to-be Jared Harrell.
The defense is where opponents could find some weaknesses early on because so many starters need to be replaced, but lots of backups gained experience last season. Safety D.J. Morgan will be the player to watch.
“They’re giving us every indication they want to be as good as last year’s team,” Coach Jason Negro said of the players’ work ethic.
