Track: Notre Dame’s Aaron Haigler wins Mission League shot put

Aaron Haigler, a 6-foot-7 junior at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame who’s a three-sport standout, recorded a career-best mark of 59 feet, 1 inch to win the Mission League shot put title on Wednesday. He also won the discus at 152-4.

Notre Dame senior Ginika Iwuchukwu won the girls’ shot put at 47-9 1/2. Louisville freshman Alladia Patterson won the discus with a mark of 115-10.

Haigler is also a defensive end in football and plays basketball.
