National park tips: These big Yosemite trees are off-limits until next year
If your heart is set on a stroll through Yosemite National Park’s Mariposa Grove of giant sequoias, wait until next year. It’s closed for restoration until spring 2017.
In the meantime, remember that Sequoia and Kings Canyon have plenty of big trees — including General Sherman, said to be the largest tree by volume in the world. And those parks are closer to Southern California.
