BB-8 sure knows how to draw a crowd.

The character from the 2015 film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” on Monday evening made a surprise appearance at the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport.

It was all in honor of the inaugural flight of ANA’s (All Nippon Airways’) aircraft decorated like BB-8. The plane left Osaka, Japan, flew to Tokyo and then landed in Los Angeles around 6 p.m.

The BB-8 aircraft is the third in the “Star Wars” fleet that was rolled out last year. It includes a Dreamliner decked out like R2-D2 and a smaller plane that features both characters on its exterior. The decorations will remain on the planes for five years.

The jet will fly between Tokyo and Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Houston and Washington. Passengers in coach will find headrests, paper cups and napkins emblazoned with the likeness of BB-8, and flight attendants wear matching aprons too. (Business and first class seem exempt from the “Star Wars” touch.)

Fliers aboard the BB-8 aircraft will be able to watch all the “Star Wars” movies, excluding the most recent one, that began with the original in 1977.
