Deal: It’s Seattle Museum Month! Stay at a downtown hotel and get half-off tickets
The Chihuly Garden and Glass museum in Seattle, featuring the fantastic works of Dale Chihuly, is one of the museums offering half-off tickets to hotel guests in February.
Heading to Seattle next month? Travelers who stay in select downtown hotels receive half off on entry to 38 museums in February. And what more ideal places to go to duck out of the winter rains?
Deal: To receive the 50% museum discounts, you must stay at one of 59 hotels -- basic or fancy. I like this deal because there are plenty of hotels to choose from at all prices, and including some downtown for those who want a car-free getaway.
Some participating hotels: the Edgewater and Fairmont Olympic on the luxe side and Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle-Downtown and Travelodge Seattle Center on the more basic side. Kimptons, W, Westin, Sheraton also are on the list.
Museums include the Museum of Glass in Tacoma (usually $15 for adults) as well as the spectacular Chihuly Garden and Glass near the Space Needle (usually $22 for adults).
Or you can see shows such as the Hello Kitty retrospective at the Seattle Museum and “Louis Kahn: The Power of Architecture” at the Bellevue Arts Museum.
When: Discounts are good Feb. 1-29.
How it works: Guests who stay at one of the participating hotels will receive a Seattle Museum Month pass to use for half-off discounts. Up to four people in a room qualify for the pass.
