Boca Raton
“This 20-acre nature preserve, located on a barrier island on Boca Raton’s Intracoastal Waterway, is an experience you won’t want to miss. Sea turtles, sharks, stingray and other sea animals swim in their tanks. Take a stroll through the informal butterfly garden, walk along the boardwalk, climb the 40-foot observation tower and look out over the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal. The giant sea turtle garden is a wonderful place to learn about these fabulous endangered animals. They offer a variety of nature programs (reservations required) that appeal to all ages such as the popular nighttime Turtle Walk Program where you may see a turtle lay her eggs on the beach and the evening Hatchling Release Program, where they release baby sea turtles into the ocean. Check their website or call for class, workshop and trip information.” - visitflorida.com
