Can anyone find Mammoth? Hint: It’s buried beneath 2 monster blizzards
In Mammoth, when it snows, it pours.
Avalanche cannons were blasting Monday, as Mammoth Mountain dug out from another 4 feet of weekend snow. In the midst of that, more snow arrived Monday with white-out conditions continuing. As much as 4 additional feet were predicted by the time the storm passes Tuesday morning, giving a total since Saturday of up to 8 feet of new snow.

Assuming the beautiful ski area ever comes up for air, it faces one of the best spring break seasons in history. The weekend’s snows were fat and heavy and unlikely to go away soon. During February’s lull, residents had started biking around town and enjoying the sun.
But the recent blasts raised the season’s total snowfall to 308 inches; the base at Main Lodge is 110 inches. The resort reports a base of 165 inches at the top of the hill.
Locals expect skiing to continue until July 4.
