Seeing India on fewer rupees

The India article [“Get Me to the Taj on Time,” April 29] forgot to mention that there are plenty of less expensive hotels — in the $100 range — in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Not every traveler can afford $600 to $700 for a hotel.

Also, to get the local flavor, one must try smaller restaurants in these cities, which are much more authentic and far cheaper.
