Web Buzz: Priority Pass app provides a window inside airport lounges around the world
Here’s app that gives you a peek inside airline lounges at airports around the world.
Name: Priority Pass app
Available for: iPhone and iPad. Android and Blackberry apps are planned.
What it does: The Priority Pass program, which provides access to lounges of numerous airlines at hundreds of airports worldwide, has been around for a while. This app provides photos of the lounges and information about their amenities.
Cost: The Priority Pass program charges an annual fee of $99, plus members pay visit charges. But the app is free, and anyone can download it to look at the lounges.
What’s hot: Let photos of comfortable chairs and info on free Wi-Fi lure you into a new travel habit. It seems like an easy draw if you travel frequently but don’t normally qualify for free lounge access on an airline or if you fly on several airlines.
What’s not: Not all airline lounges are listed in the app — just the ones available for Priority Pass members. For example, if you are a Delta Air Lines loyalist, you won’t learn about the airline’s Sky Club at London Heathrow (LHR) l or Atlanta (ATL).
Worth it: Yes. The app is free, so why not take a look at some airport lounges before deciding if Priority Club membership is for you?
