New York City: 2-for-1 deal on theater tickets
- Share via
The New York City theater box office is open -- and cheaper than ever. Top theaters are offering 2-for-1 tickets as part of Broadway Week and Off-Broadway Week. The discounted tickets are on sale now for performances from mid-September to early October.
The deal: The 2-for-1 tickets are available for selected shows; some blackout dates apply. Discounted shows on Broadway include “The Addams Family,” “Mary Poppins” and “Priscilla Queen of the Desert.” Off-Broadway shows include “Avenue Q,” “Blue Man Group” and “Love, Loss and What I Wore.”
When: Broadway Week runs from Sept. 18-30 and Off-Broadway Week runs Sept. 26-Oct. 9.
Tested: To get this deal, go to the websites to see which shows qualify for the offer. For example, using the promotion code “BWF2011” (as instructed on the Broadway Week website), I found orchestra seats for “Mary Poppins” on Sept. 22 for $59 each (not including ticket fees) -- half the usual price. Note that promotion codes are different for Off-Broadway tickets.
