Mammoth Lakes: Leaf-peeping made easy at $98 a night
- Share via
Fall colors in the Eastern Sierra start to appear in late September and October. Here’s an idea for a scenic getaway that’s easy on the wallet: Rooms start at $98 a night at Tamarack Lodge in Mammoth Lakes, where you can take in the mountain scenery without going too far. The offer also includes a boat rental and fishing rods.
The deal: Mid-century Tamarack Lodge, part of the Mammoth Mountain empire, sits on Twin Lakes and features a variety of rooms and cabins in different sizes. (Don’t confuse it with family-owned Tamarack Lodge at Lake Tahoe.)
The cheapest price for the Tamarack Fall Colors Special gets you a lodge room with private bath. Extras include a bottle of wine and daily continental breakfast. The offer requires a two-night minimum stay and is based on double occupancy.
When: The offer is good for stays through Nov. 7, based on availability.
Tested: I checked online and found availability for a lodge room with private bath for $128 a night on the weekend of Oct. 8 and 9, and $98 a night for a midweek stay Oct. 10 and 11; prices exclude tax and fees. Without the deal, the same room on the weekend dates is $149 a night plus tax and fees -- without the extras.
Info: Tamarack Lodge, (800) 626-6684
