South Lake Tahoe: Free night for cabin dwellers at Zephyr Cove

Zephyr Cove Resort sits on South Lake Tahoe just over the California-Nevada border in Nevada. The resort is offering a free night for a one-night cabin stay and two nights for a two-night stay at the campground. It’s a good deal too for those who like to plan vacations ahead of time.

The deal: There are 28 wooden cabins at Zephyr Cove ranging from studios to two-story chalets that sleep 10. Stay at the best available rate and you score the free night at the cabins. The campground, which has 93 spots for RVs and 57 tent-camping spots, doubles the deal with two free nights on a two-night visit.

When: The offer is good for stays Oct. 1-May 31.

Tested: I found a studio cabin with kitchen Oct. 12-14 for $175 with tax. When booking online, click on the “Lodging BOGO” to see the rate breakdown and the savings. In this case, the cabin I checked cost $175 for Friday night and nothing for Saturday night.
