Los Angeles Times Travel Show: a mini-vacation right here in L.A.
Crowds poured in to the 2012 Los Angeles Times Travel Show, which opened Saturday morning at the L.A. Convention Center,
Sharon Donald of Huntington Beach, who plans travel itineraries through her company called Travel Adventures, said she and her husband, Robert, come to the show to get ideas for her clients. “We want to be better informed about what’s out there,” she said as she waited for the doors to open.
The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Featured speakers included travel guru Arthur Frommer and journalist Lisa Ling. Rick Steves, speaking Saturday afternoon, drew overflow crowds. He will be back on Sunday.
If you can’t make it Saturday, the show returns Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Featured speakers include Adam Richman of “Man V. Food,” Nico Melendez of the Transportation Security Administration and Steves.
Tickets cost $10 and are available online or at the door.
