Canada: Girlfriend getaway will have you stretching
Shopping might be a staple for some girlfriend getaways, but CMH Summer Adventures is offering exhilarating, women-only journeys to the mountains of southwest British Columbia that it’s calling “Bodacious Girlfriend Getaways.”
Heli-hiking is at the core of each three-day, two-night escape. Participants will be flown by helicopter to rugged peaks in the Columbia Mountains for daytime hiking experiences. Evenings will be spent in luxurious lodges where gourmet meals will be accompanied by activities intend to help guests unwind.
The “Stretch and Stir,” Aug. 17-20, combines hiking with yoga and cooking classes conducted by sisters Sandra Davis and Julie Sagan. Davis is the chef-owner of the Saucy Gourmet in Edmonton, Alberta; Sagan is a certified yoga instructor.
A trip called “The Classic,” Aug. 20-23, is hosted by Mimi Harris, an avid hiker, and Lindsay Anderson, a hiking guide, massage therapist and yoga instructor.
The trips, about $2,700 per person, based on double occupancy, include lodging, all meals and snacks, and all gear. Women who book by the end of February will receive a complimentary, lightweight pullover.
