Caesars Palace Las Vegas to roll out renovated Julius Tower in time for hotel’s 50th anniversary

Hail, Caesar! At Caesars Palace Las Vegas, the Roman Tower, soon to be renamed, is getting a makeover as the hotel-casino gears up to mark its 50th year in 2016.

The revamped tower will be renamed the Julius Tower, for the hotel’s namesake Roman ruler. Rooms and suites will feature modern designs but keep the same great views of the Strip.

Julius Tower rooms are on sale now starting at $149 plus tax and fees. The $75-million renovation project is expected to be finished by Jan. 1.

Each of the tower’s 587 rooms will have a neutral color pattern with touches of “freesia yellow and Aegean blue,” according to a hotel statement.

Also look for mirrored headboards, 55-inch flat-screen TVs, double-sink bathrooms and artwork that juxtaposes photos of Roman statues with hand-drawn showgirl costumes.

Caesars also will open a Mr. Chow restaurant in December and welcomes back Elton John and “The Million Dollar Piano” show in January and April.
