Reporting from Las Vegas — A year ago, pop singer Britney Spears kicked off her resident shows, “Britney: Piece of Me,” at Planet Hollywood Resort, bringing a hit parade to her fans. On Saturday night, Spears marked that first year with cake, cake and cake, all from the pastry chefs at the resort. Before her show at the Axis Theatre, Spears joined her dancers and band members backstage for a photo with the cake that featured sugar detailing, fondant icing and her favorite flavor of cake, red velvet.
