Lancôme collaborates with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama on new Juicy Tubes

Juicy Tubes — the famously dense, ultra-shiny lipglosses from Lancôme — are an unlikely palette for a world-renown artist. But Yayoi Kusama, one of Japan’s most famous living artists, figured out a way to leave her distinctive, playful mark on the gloss’ tiny plastic tubes.

Kusama, who’s often been called the Princess of Polka Dots for her deep and abiding love of spots, created whimsical artwork for six limited-edition petite Juicy Tubes. Motifs include brightly hued, cartoon-style jellyfish, tulips and butterflies — all set in a background of hand-drawn dots.

The new gloss colors are seriously summery, and include the palest of pink and yellow, along with a few different translucent shades of pink.

Each tube has its own fragrance — hazelnut cacao, apricot, honey, raspberry, vanilla and grapefruit — and packs a pout-nourishing mix of honey and shea butter. Honey is the main ingredient, actually, and tops off a list of ingredients that are 100% natural and preservative-free.

The glosses are even packaged in eco-friendly cardboard packaging certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which helps reduce the exploitation of forests.

The Juicy Tubes are available for $15 at all Lancôme counters.
