Shailene Woodley looked elegant in a Marchesa gown at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards. But ‘The Descendants’’ star caused fashion mavens’ jaws to drop when she appeared at an after-party at the Beverly Hilton. It wasn’t that she’d changed out of her gown into another (that’s fairly standard). It was that she’d swapped out the Tabitha Simpson shoes she had been wearing on the red carpet, and there, peeking out from beneath her hem, were the toes of Vibram ‘FiveFinger’ shoes. You know, the flat, ‘natural sports’ shoes with defined slots for each toe. The antithesis of glamour, yes, but practical? Yes, again. But more to the point, the way these things usually go, it is just as likely that Vibram persuaded the actress to show them a little love with some pretty cool product placement. [Telegraph]
The Council of Fashion Designers of America and the British Fashion Council have agreed to change the start dates of their fashion weeks this fall so as to not conflict with Milan Fashion Week. New York’s Fashion Week will now be Sept. 6-13, London Fashion Week Sept. 14-18 and Milan Sept. 18-25. [The Cut]
Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino is being sued by a clothing company in a deal apparently gone awry. The company, Serious Pimp -- seriously! -- contends that Sorrentino was paid a $25,000 in advance to wear its T-shirts on ‘Jersey Shore’ and had the right to approve or reject designs, but never did so. A representative for Sorrentino says all terms of the contract were completed. Of course, Sorrentino has his own lawsuit against Abercrombie & Fitch, which tried to pay him not to wear their clothes, saying the company misappropriated some of his singular phrases. [TMZ]
