Super model Gisele Bundchen seems to have started a prayer chain for husband Tom Brady. In an email to friends and family she reportedly asked that they pray that ‘he can feel confident, healthy and strong’ when he’s quarterbacking for the New England Patriots in this Sunday’s Super Bowl. [NY Post]
Tim Tebow and his Denver Broncos didn’t make it to the Super Bowl, but he is the new ‘face’ of Jockey underwear (so to speak). In a strange twist for male athletes promoting underwear, the modest Tebow won’t drop his trousers to show them off. ‘Some things are better when left to the imagination,’ a Jockey spokesman explained. The much less hesitant David Beckham launched his new H&M underwear line (the one he’ll model in the Super Bowl ad we mentioned earlier this week) at a cocktail party in London on Wednesday night. He formerly modeled underwear for Armani, but said he wanted to get into the design end of things himself -- an opportunity the H&M collaboration afforded -- because he wants to be ‘as big as Calvin Klein’ in the underwear game. Penelope Cruz appears on a billboard for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) that went up in NYC’s Garment District on Wednesday admonishing ‘Give fur the cold shoulder.’ The billboard is sure to catch the eyes of designers, buyers and the fashion media who will descend on the district when New York Fashion Week starts Monday.
