EGYPT: Shots fired, but atmosphere in Tahrir Square ‘festive’

Al Jazeera reporters dismissed wire reports of heavy gunfire in Cairo’s Tahrir Square early Saturday.
‘Our sources tell us that the shots were fired into the air by the military in order to clear out the area,’ Al Jazeera reported, calling the atmosphere in the square ‘festive’ and linking to a video of protesters taking part in a singalong.
