Fans of HBO’s ‘True Blood’ know actor Jim Parrack for his supporting role as Hoyt Fortenberry, the lumbering, socially awkward love interest of vampirette Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll).

The cast is currently in between seasons 3 and 4, which means that they have the time to expand their acting chops into non-vampire-related territory. For Parrack, the decision was to head back to the stage where he will star in ‘Terre Haute’ by Edmund White, produced by the Blank Theatre in Hollywood.

‘Terre Haute,’ which runs Oct. 2 to Nov. 14 at the Second Stage Theatre, is a two-person drama inspired by the epistolary friendship that developed between bomber Timothy McVeigh and writer Gore Vidal. White’s drama imagines a series of conversations between the two unlikely friends, whose names the playwright has changed from their real-life inspirations.

The play has received stagings at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2007 and at New York’s 59E59 Theater in 2009. In his review, Charles Isherwood of the New York Times wrote that White ‘has captured the amusingly contrasted voices of the patrician novelist and the plebeian terrorist cannily and cogently.’

Parrack will play the imprisoned bomber opposite Mike Farrell, an alumnus of TV’s ‘MASH,’ who will take on the role of the writer. The production is directed by Kirsten Sanderson, who worked with the Blank on the musical ‘Little Fish,’ starring Alice Ripley.
