Merce Cunningham ‘Event’

Between 2001 and his death two years ago, the choreographer Merce Cunningham created several site-specific poses based on his work for the photography magazine 2wice. The photos looked great on the page but appear downright magical flowing across an iPad screen. You even create your own movement with the swipe of a finger in this stunningly beautiful new app from 2wice.

Among the treats are up-close views of Robert Rauchenberg’s dazzling painted and combine-like costumes, new video and pertinent descriptions of the work by the fine dance writer Nancy Dalva. If that isn’t enough, this extraordinary app is one of the best deals in all Appleland: It’s free!
