Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest Goop newsletter informs us that when the actress/friend of Mario (Batali) isn’t throwing her weight around to get a table at Mozza, she gets her pizza from Mulberry Street (‘My favorite is the fried eggplant’). Who still eats the chopped salad at La Scala? All those whose moms probably took them to the Beverly Hills Italian for lunch in the ‘80s, including Gwyneth. Other Gwyneth faves: Via Veneto in Santa Monica, Sushi Katsu-Ya in Studio City, Nate ‘n Al’s in Beverly Hills, Hamasaku in West L.A., Melrose Bar & Grill in West Hollywood (‘my secret local fave in L.A.,’ Gwyn says), Chinois on Main and Michael’s in Santa Monica (really?), and Loteria Grill at the Original Farmers Market (‘their tiny tacos are beyond delicious’).
