Scotch for a song: You don’t have to be drunk to tolerate most singer/songwriters, but it helps. This past Sunday, the Foundry on Melrose launched Scotch and Songs Sundays (8 to 10 p.m.), a weekly showcase that features a complimentary Scotch tasting along with a live performance by a local musician. This week’s stars are a folkie named Blade and a 15-year-old single malt Scotch whiskey, Balvenie 15. Future events will feature an array of Hotel Café types -- Ryan Calhoun, Kyler England, Emi Meyer -- paired with stuff such as Chivas, Glenrothes, Bowmore, etc. 7463 Melrose Ave., L.A. High-class alco-pops: Our mid-winter heat wave has persuaded Ocean Lounge, the in-house restaurant for boutique hotel Oceana Santa Monica, to bring back a summer treat: alco-pops. These kid-inspired but very boozy popsicles and milkshakes are made from rum and vodka, and they come in five flavors: cherry, grape, raspberry, passion fruit and citrus. $6 each or five for $20.Thanks, global warming. 849 Ocean Ave., Santa Monica.
