Chunks of concrete and metal fell onto the 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night after an SUV slammed into a guardrail on the 3rd Street overpass.
Police were still looking for the four people traveling inside the black Escalade, which authorities said was speeding when it lost control on the overpass about 9 p.m., KTLA reported.
The crash sent pieces of metal and concrete onto motorists traveling on the 110 Freeway below.
‘Chunks of the freeway just came right down on top of our car,’ said Kurt Bowers, who was driving south on the 110 when the incident happened.
In all, there were six accidents related to the falling debris, KTLA said, but no injuries were reported.
