Sheriff’s Department investigates police shooting in Watts

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the shooting of a man this weekend in Watts by South Gate police.
The shooting took place Saturday about 8:45 p.m. at Grape and 97th streets in Watts, not far from Jordan High School.
The man was wounded and taken to a hospital, according to the Sheriff’s Department. More than one officer was involved, but none was injured, South Gate police said.
No other information was available.
