Eastbound traffic on the 60 Freeway was snarled Monday night after a big rig overturned near Azusa Avenue in the Hacienda Heights area.
The big rig apparently caused a hazardous materials spill and a SigAlert was issued, the California Highway Patrol said. Television news footage showed just one lane open on the busy east-west artery.
The accident was reported shortly before 10 p.m. It was unclear how long it would take to open all the lanes.
No other details were immediately available.
