A 21-year-student riding a bicycle on the Cal Poly Pomona campus died Thursday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle.
The accident was reported about 1 p.m. on Kellogg Drive. The student was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, university spokesman Tim Lynch said.
The student’s name was not released.
‘The campus community is mourning the loss,’ Lynch told The Times.
Kellogg Drive was closed Thursday afternoon between South Campus Drive and Red Gum Lane. Traffic was being diverted to University Drive, which circles part of the campus.
Investigators were at the scene gathering evidence. No other details were immediately available.
