Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon fell off his bike during the weekend, fracturing his arm and damaging his left knee.

The president -- who had his work cut out for him last week as thousands marched in Mexico’s streets protesting high crime and kidnapping levels and as drug-related violence continued -- slipped on slick soil during his daily exercise routine.

According to a statement from his office, President Calderon is expected to recover within six to eight weeks. With so much work on his plate, he doesn’t have much time to convalesce.
