Ariel (ID# A1003953), a one-year-old unspayed female cat, was brought to the East Valley animal shelter on New Year’s Eve after being hit by a car. Since then, she’s had a lot of healing to do (and still has more to come).
The accident left her with a fractured jaw, an ulcerated eye and other injuries, but she’s ‘still in good spirits,’ says Valerie Markloff, the shelter’s New Hope program coordinator.
The L.A. Department of Animal Services medical team decided to try to repair Ariel’s jaw with wire, so she’s on the mend but would certainly benefit from having a caring owner to look after her during the process.
‘Ariel appears to be recovering well and is such a little love bug,’ says Markloff. Meet her in person at the East Valley shelter, 14409 Vanowen St. in Van Nuys, or call 888-4LAPET1 with her ID number for more information.
