Actress Katherine Heigl confirms to Entertainment Weekly that she’s indeed leaving the star-making medical series ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’
She’s had quite a bit to say about life on the Shonda Rhimes-run show since its 2005 start, but today she has only one message for fans: I’m sorry. (Send her a message back in our poll after the jump.)
“I am done,” Heigl told the mag, which has a full Q&A with her in its next print edition. “We just finalized our agreement. Everyone had been working really hard to find an amicable and gracious way of letting go and moving on. It’s sad but it’s what I wanted.”
The newly brunet star acknowledges she’s ‘disappointing the fans,’ and she’s crossing her well-compensated fingers that she’s made the right choice.
In September ...
... Heigl and husband, Josh Kelley, adopted daughter Naleigh, something the ’27 Dresses’ star says affected her entire career outlook. ‘I started a family and it changed everything for me,” Heigl said. ‘It changed my desire to work full-time.”
ABC issued a small statement, saying, ‘By mutual agreement, Katherine Heigl has ended her successful run as Dr. Isobel Stevens. The studio wishes her well.’
Heigl will next be seen in the action comedy ‘Killers,’ alongside Ashton Kutcher.
