British fashion institution Vivienne Westwood brought a slice of her empire to Los Angeles on Wednesday, with a jam-packed opening for her new Melrose Avenue boutique, hosted by ‘Mad Men’ bombshell Christina Hendricks.

A hot-pink neon sign bearing the designer’s name loomed over the busy street, welcoming Hendricks, with husband Geoffrey Arend, and a host of style stars -- all wearing Westwood, naturally.

‘Twilight’ and ‘Up in the Air’ star Anna Kendrick turned heads in a bronze calf-length number while Victoria Hervey went for a metallic mini. ‘Sex and the City’ star Kristin Davis rocked a modification of the brilliant blue Westwood made famous by Demi Moore.

L.A. social types Shiva Rose and Cameron Silver mingled over passed trays of champagne, as did Lupe Fiasco, actress Malin Akerman, and nightlife couple Jason and Stephanie Scoppa.

Dita Von Teese turned up looking classic and stylish, with nothing but nice words for her ex, Marilyn Manson. She and the rocker chatted pleasantly with Dita’s new man, Louis Marie de Castelbajac.

Westwood, who bears the honorific ‘dame’ back home, was situated on the roof, camped out below a projected video of her latest Gold Label runway show and receiving guests like, well, the dame she is.
