News item: The New York Times reports the SEC has begun an informal investigation into stock sales by Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo.

Story contains no comment from the SEC itself, and Countrywide opts for the ‘we don’t comment on communications with regulators’ brand of no-comment.
