Say YES! to this roadster

Oh yeah, we got the funk. Or rather: the YES! Roadster 3.2, made by German company Funke & Will, is heading Stateside. It’s uncertain whether the car got its name from Meg Ryan’s Harry/Sally outburst, but the known facts are that F & W hand-make each vehicle to customers’ specs: colors and materials, even pedals, seats and switchgear.
The car is constructed from composite panels over an aluminum spaceframe. With a six-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive, it weighs about 2,200 pounds. This gossamer weight is made all the more interesting when one of two available engines go into its mid-mounted bay: a naturally aspirated 3.2-liter Audi V-6, or the same powerplant with a turbocharger. The former deploys 255 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque, and scurries to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds, while the latter’s vital stats are 355, 358 and 3.8 respectively. The turbocharged car has a top speed of 175 mph. Yes, indeed.
A North American distributor will be announced in February and cars should be arriving by the spring, priced in the region of $78,000.
