L.A. listing prices down $9K in past week, to $400K

Headline: Median listing prices in L.A. County fell by $9,000 over the week ending Monday, to $400,000, according to Housing Tracker’s weekly analysis of MLS listings.
Numbers: Median listing prices, at $400,000, have fallen 23.8% in the past year, and are now 31% below their bubble peak of $579,666, reached in April 2006.
Inventory of for-sale homes and condos was essentially flat, dropping 50 units in the week, to 42,081, and is running 8.6% below year-ago levels.
Note: Median listing prices in L.A. County now match median sales prices, which MDA DataQuick reported at $400,000 for July. Sales prices have been falling faster than listing prices -- median sales price has dropped 26.9% over the past year.
