Troy Davis, the Georgia man facing execution Wednesday evening, has been dealt another setback: Georgia state prison officials have denied his request to take a polygraph test, according to the Associated Press.
Attorneys had hoped that the polygraph test would convince the board to reconsider its decision to deny him clemency, the report said.
Davis, 42, is scheduled to be executed at 7 p.m. EDT Wednesday at a state prison in Jackson, Ga.
Earlier Wednesday, the state parole board denied a request by Davis’ lawyers to reconsider the board’s decision not to grant him clemency.
