Bird’s (Nest) eye view, July 28

This photo of Beijing’s Olympic area, with the National Stadium (known as the Bird’s Nest) in the background, was taken by our blogger and veteran (and award-winning) Olympics reporter Philip Hersh from the same vantage point as the one he took roughly 16 hours earlier. This one is at 10:30 Monday morning Beijing time. Take a look at the one from 6 p.m. Sunday, Beijing time. We may keep track of this view as the week goes on. With factories shut down for the Games and with fewer cars on the road, things should start to improve soon. Stay tuned.
