Bode Miller has to wait for second medal chance as Tuesday’s super combined is postponed

An overnight storm in Whistler spurred officials to postpone Tuesday’s scheduled running of the men’s Olympic super combined, denying American Bode Miller a chance to earn his second medal in consecutive days.
No makeup date was announced for the combined, although a possible scenario considered Monday night was to move the combined to Friday, push the men’s super giant slalom to Sunday and the men’s giant slalom to next Tuesday, an open date on the alpine schedule.
Miller won his U.S. record-setting third Olympic alpine medal on Monday by claiming bronze in the men’s downhill.
Women’s downhill training also was canceled due to the weather in Whistler, but the storm should clear in time for Wednesday’s scheduled running of the women’s downhill. American Lindsey Vonn will begin her multi-medal quest despite a bruised right shin she suffered Feb. 2 during pre-Olympic training in Austria.
