You won’t understand Busdriver’s new single, ‘No Blacks, No Jews, No Asians,’ until you’ve heard it at least 25 times. Even then, a lot of it will fly over your head.
You don’t even need to hear the song to guess what it’s about. Racial discrimination and economic dystopia are the loose themes. This will not soundtrack pharmaceutical commercials; rather, it’s made to combat them. With obtuse charm, the rapper born Regan Farquhar ticks off a tangle of bizarre juxtapositions that hint at what would happen if he ever took over CNBC.

The track is the lead single from Busdriver’s seventh solo album, released on indie rap locus Fake Four. Titled ‘Beaus$Eros,’ the record’s press kit claims that ‘Busdriver has made his most personal and avant-garde work yet, focusing on a devastating breakup and personal failure, the album is buttered in stirring melodies and complex vocals.’ It also refences Bjork’s ‘Post’ and Outkast’s ‘The Love’s Below’ as aesthetic sign posts.
