Diane Sawyer almost missed her chance to say ‘Good Morning America’ on this historic day because of unexpected street closures in Washington, D.C.

A few minutes before 7 a.m. (PST), the ABC anchor told her colleagues Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos that she was out of breath because she had to run several blocks to join them. Apparently, part of the new president’s security plan for this morning calls for the closing of streets randomly and suddenly.

Perhaps Sawyer should have considered signing up for the president-elect’s nifty inauguration text updates. She would have known about the 14th Street situation.
