CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin didn’t think the Inauguration Day speech by Barack Obama was all that special and fell far short of inauguration speeches by Presidents John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.
‘I hate to be the skunk at the garden party,’ said Toobin to his colleagues. He said he felt that Obama’s speech had ‘a lot of ideas, but there was no theme.’ He said the speech did not have a ‘single memorable line,’ such as Kennedy’s ‘Ask not what your country can do for you’ line.
